But recently I decided to take it public.

Photo Advice wanted

I get bored very easily.

This is ONE of the reasons

 I find it hard to stick with a project.

Take a look around my studio

 and you'll exactly what I'm on about.

So, today I was listing some of my travel card sleeves and luggage tags on Etsy and realised I was dead bored with the white background routine.

I decided to have a little play with backgrounds, like this-

Not only do I get bored easily,

but I can be indecisive too.

(painting a pretty rosy picture here-not)

I'd love any feedback.

I do wonder if these new backgrounds

 are too busy and distracting?

I can take it :)

Mother's Day Card: Sound of Music

Last weekend The Sound of Music was on TV...again!

I wonder how many times I've seen it?

I could watch it all over again tonight.

It may have something to do with the fact that brown paper packages tied up with string DO feature pretty highly on my list of things to dig.

It inspired me to make this  Mother's Day card for my favourite woman, my Mum.

Christmas Cards - Free Vintage Download

My Christmas Card Recipe

1. Source some traditional Christmas sheet music 
2. Add one large (but wise looking) moose head.
3. Decorate with shiny red retro baubles.
4. Serve with some French language references 

The great thing about this card recipe is that it is original and economical.

My Christmoose design is a 6x4,

perfect for development at the local photo-lab 

Then I simply glued the photos onto some card stock.

The cards came out at a grand total of 30 cents each, including the envelope...

that warms the cockles of my heart!

Texture in Nature -Year of the Forest

This forest's mojo is ever apparent to the humble guest, and so my snaps are merely a clumsy attempt to convey its  verve.

Recently we spent four nights in the Bunya Mountains National Park, which is 200km northwest of Brisbane, Queensland. The Bunya Mountains are an isolated section of the Great Dividing Range that played a significant role in Aboriginal culture.  The Bunya's are simultaneously peaceful and energetic.  But, if you look closely, you see great textures...and colours... and lines..and shapes...........   

It is International Year of the Forest and in the name of balance I couldn't resist another forest quote:

"If a tree falls in a forest and lands on a politician, even if you can't hear the tree or the screams, I'll bet you'd at least hear the applause"

Mount Coot-tha Forest (Place of Honey)

Today we ventured  to the soul of Brisbane... Mt Coot-tha  which is aboriginal for Place of Honey. We go there often- it makes me feel connected. 

But my absolute favourite time to go is during heavy downfalls when all the crowds run away  to bunker down in their dry houses. It is with this torrential rain that  the forest comes alive with powerful waterfalls- it transforms. I have lived here most of my life and really only witnessed this for the first time last Christmas Day, just before the floods.

Today, the weather was sunny and the people  flocked in numbers I hadn't seen in a while.

What a great forest.....

What a great tree.....

Remember it is International Year of the Forest- treat them kindly.
